This is yet another attempt by the State to dictate to local governments land use. There is a long history of the camel trying to stick it’s nose under the tent, hopefully this one will fail as well. Anytime control is relinquished form those closest to the issue generally a flawed, less effective process is the result. QAC is a diamond in the rough with only about one third of our county potential growth realized. One reason the county has fallen on economic hard times is do to no growth groups taking legal action against vertually every project that comes down the pike. I appreciate the development of this sight and hope that the information that is generated here helps to make a diffrence moving forward.
We welcome any help you can provide George in pointing out other instances where the State Government is treating the rural areas as second class citizens.
This democratic majority that Maryland is married to. And this reelected governor will not rest until the force rural Maryland to the urbans will!
This septic system legislation is a prime example. First it’s new systems. Well wait a year and it will be replacing all systems. They do it all the time. Witness untaxed delivered food, then they tax it. 2nd offense for seat belts, cell phones then make it 1st offense. Anything but help save or create jobs in MD. I for ine am sick of it. And O’Malleys continued deficit spending and then asking for more taxes/fees. UN believable! But Typical! Remember Marylands outrageous surpluses. Where they are a thing of the past!
This forum is great to see. For to long we have not had a voice and now we have a place to bring our concerns.
Thanks Donald, please have your friends join in and help us to spread the word that we are trying to create a site where people can come to find information on all the attacks taking place on rural residents of Maryland.
thank you Mr. Pipken and Mr. Smigiel for getting this blog up and running. high time that rural md is given consideration in our state. i am fortunate to be from western md where someday the option to succeed to west virginia could gain some footing. not sure what options the eastern shore could consider, but our current legislation in annapolis certainly does not represent rural views and values
